For the non-fishing
members of your party, or if you just want to take time out away
from catching fish, there are plenty of local attractions.
Les bouffetières is situated 20 mins
from the historic town of Laval, listed as an 'Art and History'
town, Laval has a Middle Ages feel.
Laval has a number of Museums, busy boutiques and a variety
of restaurants, cafés as well as traditional markets.
The Chàteau at Laval over looks the river Mayenne where
you can hire a boat, cast off and take your very own cruise.
Guided tours are also available by boat, on foot or by the
mini train, all which are organised by the local Tourist Office.
Other places of interest are the Chàteau
at Craon and its gardens, La Roe Abbey or for a slice of culture
the Robert Tatin museum at Cossé-le-Vivien.
The beautiful long sandy beach of La Baule
is just a 1½ hour drive away from Les Bouffétiéres
and makes a perfect day out.
There are also 2 golf courses both situated
within 30 minutes from Les Bouffétiéres.
Firstly, there is the Cesson Sevigne golf
course at Vitre. This challenging 9-hole course (par 35, 2946
yards) has many water obstacles, also has partly covered practise
area, training green and club house.
Secondly, there is the Changé golf
course at Laval. Situated on the banks of the river Mayenne
there are two high quality courses offer an excellent challenge
to all golfers.
The Jariel is a 9 hole course, and the Chabossiére
is 18 holes (par 72 – 6790 yards). There is also a 25-bay
driving range, putting green, shop and resturant overlooking
the course.
